Plasma Screen

Karen shared with the group the how’s and do’s of Plasma Screen project.

One unit is currently set up at the Curtin Street entrance, other proposed locations are the Mall entrance and the West wing entrance. They plan on having all 3 operational by the Blue/White game on April 21, 2007.

Disaster Recovery

Mark gave a presentation of the DLT plan for Disaster Recovery. Mark said that he, Michael Bender and Wayne Stump have been working on this project for over a year.
He explained what DLT has done so far, that they have purchased a separate server and Storage array and it is located on the West side of Campus. It is a major investment to DLT and the University. Once everything is up and working as planned if anything should happen to the current computer room located in the basement of Paterno, in a very short amount of time The CAT and other services would be back up and working as normal.

It is a serious topic, so serious presenters were needed. Pulled from Hollywood, or from the dead (not sure which), the DLT/I-Teach Team of K, M and W told it like it is. In case you missed it, or can't wait to revisit the topic... here's their PowerPoint Presentation.

What we cannot replicate here is the most important part of the presentation: Their Attire. Folks, who are your designers? And why was there no evidence of cat hair, dog fuzz or morning coffee on your threads? It is apparently true: black goes with everything.

PURL: What's All the Hype About?
